Developing real-time software products requires the highest level of rigor and calculating thought. Once a functional design is conceived, it's up to our engineers to put the technology and their analytical - and often creative as well - know-how to work.
Our engineers are always thinking in terms of algorithms - the sequence of calculations that take an input signal (or sometimes no input at all), process it, and create an output signal.
They use algebra, trigonometry, and calculus as well as a whole branch of mathematics dedicated to the study of digital signals known as Digital Signal Processing or DSP. DSP is a highly evolved mathematics that allows engineers to manipulate sound impulse trains (the series of samples in a digital sound wave) in time and frequency domains.

They use object-oriented coding techniques to optimize performance and maximize code reuse, greatly reducing the chances of code defects.
They think in terms of microseconds, millions and billions of samples (think: 44,100 per second is the lowest sampling rate!), so they're always concerned with high throughput and highly-optimized looping, branching, addressing, memory storage, and buffering schemes.
Of course they're ever-concerned with their overall highest (and uncomprimizing) goal: sound quality. They use techniques for digitizing analog signals and "analog-izing" digital signals. They use various A-to-D and D-to-A smoothing and quantizing techniques.
Our engineers create algorithms with high-performance, high-precision and most importantly, high sound quality.
Our algorithms are like clockwork. They are tested for hours on end, internally in our labs, as well as externally in labs and studios on real music projects.
