Introducing Flashback!

Next >

FlashbackTM (Patent Pending.) uses your computer's RAM to buffer the last running 15 minutes of live audio on a track or master fader, so you can go up to 15 minutes back in time, retrieve the audio, and save it. It never stops, faithfully capturing all incoming audio at full session bit depth and sample rate, sitting unobtrusively in the background as an RTAS plug-in, until you need it to turn back the hands of time and save the otherwise-lost audio to track via AudioSuite. If it happened in the last 15 minutes, you can retrieve it from RAM and save it to track, by clicking Freeze in RTAS and Process in AudioSuite!

What if you could go back in time and retrieve audio you never got with a Pro Tools recording pass?

Or play effortlessly without "Record Button Anxiety" and then, after an amazing performance, hit a button and retrieve it after the fact and write it to track?

Or sit in front of your TV, stereo, or any sound source, wait for audio samples, and save them after you heard them?

What if you could rescue audio from a session where the Pro Tools transport stopped during a recording pass because of an inadvertent elbow to the Stop Button or a resource issue with your computer?

Well, now you can!

Flashback is about never missing the recording opportunity, because: (1) it is always recording (in RAM, not to disk, unless you want it to!) and (2) you make the decision to write the audio to Pro Tools after it happens.

Flashback is a unique Pro Tools-hosted plug-in that combines RTAS and AudioSuite plug-in types to give you the ability to capture incoming audio in the RTAS version's RAM-based Streaming Buffer, save a "snapshot" in its Frozen Buffer, and write it to track via its AudioSuite type.
